Being A Lawyer In The Energy Sector – What’s In It For You? (Content Strategi – SEO)

Working as a lawyer has far broader horizons than many people assume. There’s no such thing as someone who is simply a lawyer, because there’s far more to it than simply being a lawyer. They come in many shapes and sizes, each professional with their own expertise, a category that they specialise in.

One of those categories, is a lawyer who works and specialises in the energy sector and in this short article, I’m going to list some of the potential roles, salaries and areas of interest of being a lawyer in the aforementioned field!

The Types Of Workplace

Legal professionals who are employed in the energy sector can work for numerous companies across a number of differing industries and with more roles than you can even imagine. Things like global oil companies, gas companies, producers of renewable energy or even nuclear producers – in each varying industry, they have to deal with a remarkable amount of stress-inducing job roles and duties, meaning that the stress levels of these legal professionals are often through the roof. Though that pretty much goes for every type of legal professional, not just those specialising in the energy sector.

Energy sector specialising lawyers could end up working with banks, governments, utilities and investors, typically involved with familiarising them with and maintaining legal regulation and also providing legal advice on planning and development restrictions.

In essence, being a lawyer in such fields is hands down one of the most stressful roles in the business. This is primarily because they are the ones dealing with the legal side of things, and we are all aware that it is the legal side of things which forces majority of companies and businesses into a spiral of financial downfall. Having to deal with these issues means that if something comes up as illegal, then it’s on the lawyer’s shoulders. If it all goes wrong, the lawyer is to blame.

It’s a field in which error is not acceptable, tolerable or even allowed in the slightest instance. Even the slightest legal errors result in colossal consequences, so when things go wrong, it’s the lawyers head on a stake. But, that’s also why being a lawyer in this type of field comes with its rewards.

Examples Of Salaries

So after looking into it briefly, I found that the majority of companies are paying around about the same sort of salaries and let’s just say that they are all fairly hefty. For example, working as a Legal Counsel for three days a week will earn you around eighty thousand a year, Construction Lawyers are looking at around seventy-five to eighty-five thousand and Corporate Oil and Gas Associates are earning upwards of one-hundred-and-twenty grand a year. So it is fair to say that with big risk, come equally big rewards.

A Great Field To Become Qualified In

If you’re looking to build a career as an energy sector lawyer, then you’re certainly in for an excellently-paid ride. With employers around the globe hiring lawyers at increasingly rising rates each year, which is most likely due to government bodies clamping down on legality and misconduct. Though it won’t be easy. Just like anything in life that is worth getting, becoming a qualified professional in this sort of field will take years of training and education, meaning you’ll have to work incredibly hard at it over a long period of time. But it goes without saying – once you’re qualified, you’ll be most definitely reaping the rewards.

Career opportunities for lawyers in the energy sector (Content Strategi – SEO)

Career opportunities for lawyers in the energy sector are as diverse as they are rewarding. The growth of renewable energies and the utilisation of electric vehicles brings new opportunities as well as new challenges. While renewable technologies hold much promise, there are also some disagreements about the placement of renewable power generators with some arguing that they destroy the natural beauty of an environment.

In addition, the power supplied by many renewable energy generators is inconsistent, creating a need for new battery technologies to store power while production is high. The use of electric vehicles, meanwhile, creates new problems in the distribution and supply of energy, creating opportunities for law workers.

Electric cars must use batteries to store energy, which can be hazardous under certain conditions, potentially leading to issues about safety. Many new technologies are often the result of years of scientific research, which is often costly and time intensive for the teams involved, so there is a strong impetus for those involved to maintain the intellectual property rights for these breakthroughs. Comprehensive legal knowledge is required to determine who holds the rights to these technologies.

Global demand for energy is predicted to increase as large economies such as China and India become increasingly energy dependent. There are likely to be disagreements about how this energy is supplied and inequality regarding who has access to energy. This will require an ability to prioritise need while also making a case for development of new technologies which are more productive and energy efficient.

As new technologies are currently being implemented, there will be shifts in productivity as some nations become better equipped to capitalise on renewable resources while others must rely on scarce fossil fuels. As these fossil fuels become increasingly scarce, the need for governments to procure supplies of energy to meet demand will increase, leading to many challenges for energy lawyers.

There is a great need to reduce the pollution from energy production due to their effects on the global ecosystem. The shrinkage of the Arctic ice caps creates an interesting problem regarding which countries have rights to the resources which this region may contain. Also, the pollution and subsequent decline in the environment may create a loss of the wildlife species diversity required to maintain stable ecosystems, which could potentially harm both developed and developing nations.

Replacing ageing infrastructure will become a concern as many power plants reach the end of their useful lives. Policy-makers will need to decide between replacing power plants which rely on fossil fuels and exacerbate environmental problems or utilise renewable energies which may be unreliable or lead to disputes over the locations in which they are situated. Health concerns caused by the pollutants generated from the procurement of energy supplies are also a major problem.

As you can see, the energy law sector offers numerous challenges and opportunities to develop both personally and professionally. The salary in India for an energy lawyer can range from Rs. 12-15k per month at entry level to Rs. 4-5 Lacs per month or more, depending on many factors including the size of the firm they work with, the types of cases worked on and experience levels. In addition to a great salary and many opportunities for development, energy lawyers can also expect to be able to make a real difference to the way that the law is implemented.

Today’s IoT Trends – A Worldwide Phenomenon(Content Strategi – SEO)

IoT is rapidly becoming one of the most looked-into and studied trends in the technological world of today, with many firms, organisations and businesses firmly believing that it is paving new pathways in technological advancement, providing companies with an enhanced outlook and greater chance of betterment.

IoT refers to ‘Internet of Things’, and it is one of the hottest topics in today’s ever-expanding world of technology. Many of today’s firms believe that IoT is the key to all of this. Although there have been many keys, they see this as sort of a master-key – almost like the Holy Grail of business growth, both financially and in terms of viewership. IoT is believed to be able to aid in many things, including enhanced customer relationships, business growth, reduced risk, cost and theft, better insights and improved customer satisfaction – and that is only the tip of the business-expanding iceberg.

How Exactly Does IoT Impact Businesses Who Choose To Focus On It?

Although it is thought to be the answer to all questions, IoT – just like anything else – does come with its setbacks. One of the most major flaws of IoT devices was discovered back in October 2016,  when a DDoS attack struck a colossal 1600 websites in the US, crippling their services and distributing important and more importantly, private and confidential information. It proved that IoT devices are somewhat vulnerable and penetrable as opposed to what was originally thought.

Even everyday devices that are powered by IoT such as CCTV cameras and smart-home devices were hijacked and taken control of, then used against the servers. This would be a massive issue for those focusing on IoT in the world of business, because, in a place in which money is at stake, security is of utmost importance. With this hack already making people sceptical, businesses will have to be extra careful to make sure that their own IoT devices are sufficiently protected.

Another challenge that companies choosing to focus and incorporate IoT have to face is talent shortage in the IoT field. Surveys have shown that forty-five percent of IoT companies struggle to find security professionals and thirty percent have the same problems when searching for digital marketers. It seems as though there just aren’t many professionals out there who have adequate training, understanding or experience in the IoT area. Though it seems that in 2017, major vendors must act upon this and are looking to invest in IoT certifications and training. They will make it a part of the mainstream training programs undertaken in the tech industry.

Inevitable Leaps And Bounds

It seems as though with IoT rapidly growing in popularity and becoming more and more of an everyday thing in not just the technological world, but also the normal world, that big companies and businesses are starting to venture down the IoT route. With a lot of corporations beginning to place their focus on IoT devices and programs, there is no doubt about it that others are following suit. Though they may face a heap of challenges along the way and end up having to revise and edit their strategy now and then, it certainly still seems that IoT is the way to go for the corporations and businesses inside of today’s world of technology.

Industry 4.0 Series: Inside the factory (Content Strategi – SEO)

Industry 4.0 means that the number of network-connected sensors and devices could more than double or perhaps triple to 23 billion by 2021.  This type of mass explosion of the Internet of Things forms a technology that includes the capability of advanced analytics which helps the business decision makers make better decisions involving the changing vision of the business space.  The current usage with the anticipated future usage promises to change the face of manufacturing forever.

U.S. Manufacturers

In the United States alone more than one-third of the participating manufacturing companies use IoT processes. Based on research done by the IndustryWeek research team (www.ge.com/digital/sites/default/files/industrial-internet-insights-report.pdf), more than half of the U.S. manufacturers use IoT to collect machine data and a significantly smaller percentage of 44{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} collect data from sensors embedded in their products. They use the sensors as a critical component in their management research and consumer research as it proves to be a reliable and widespread indicator of consumerism. More and more industries and management are ready to include IoT into their processes for data collection and product usage.

Network Security

Many of the U. S. Manufacturers using the IoT manufacturing data collection processes report that there are still issues that need to be resolved in the data collection processes of using the Internet of Things as their only data collection efforts. One of the issues is the network security and data collection capabilities. http://www.pwc.com/us/en/industrial-products/next-manufacturing/big-data-driven-manufacturing.html. The concern for security management is at the heart of most of the objections to using the IoT, but those are finding out that networks are sophisticated to handle the data collection that is embedded in products that the concern is lessening.

Concern for Security

A concern still exists for the internal network of a manufacturing company being able to scale up to handle the increased requirements for them. Many management companies are monitoring current usage and depend on Network Solutions Company to help them scale to unbelievable levels to handle the IoT requirements. Current IoT has built in capabilities to monitor the working systems and gauge as usage becomes abnormal or needs improvement. Some improvements to the system include development equipment time, using the data to open new markets and measure machine performance and of course quality control of products to ensure the best quality.

Analytics

Using IoT American manufacturers are forced to become more analytical in their critical management decisions. For example, the IoT requires constant monitoring of network usage.  This requires increased training for current staff and the employment of the directorate staff that are versed in network processes. The ability to overrun the competition is, of course, the end run of the business, but it is important that the IoT companies use the analytics that is generated to the most productive advantage of the enterprise.

Human Resources

Collaboration in many departments that historically did not interact becomes increasingly important in IoT management and manufacturing.  Human Resources now form an integral part of the management team in addition to the keeper of benefits. Having the appropriate personnel to handle and understand the analytics is imperative to the growth of the company.

Why the Construction Industry Must Align with the Current Mobile Digital Revolution (Content Strategi)

Mobile digitisation is growing at an exponential pace making application development and deployment more convenient than ever. To remain competitive, the construction industry must align with ongoing trends and embrace the mobile digitisation revolution on an organisation-wide basis.

The Nature of Mobile Digitisation in the Construction Industry

As per the Roland Berger study, an increase in the productivity of the construction sector is desirable, since there was only a 4{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} improvement during the past ten years, implying that these companies were far from being competitive. Even with the widespread availability of sophisticated mobile applications, only 3{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} construction industry players realise that digitisation is important.

Digitisation can affect companies regarding improving access to stakeholders including customers and suppliers, ensuring optimal data usage, enhancing automation, and promoting better connectivity.

Digital applications create endless possibilities regarding saving costs, focusing on logistics, optimising the supply chain, and making economical storage possible.

Contributions by Next-Gen Visual Builders

Contemporary visual builders for mobile applications enable a wide range of capabilities regarding front-end features, back-end capability, data processing ability and workflow management aspects. Construction industry players can instantly take advantage of drag and drop UI editing features, with full support for modules, optimal navigation structuring, customisable properties, single-click publish, and testing on real devices. Visual business data binding with embedded maps and graphs from multiple data sources, support for complex logic and workflows and convenient app distribution empower construction businesses.

A Note about Democratising App Creation

Democratising the mobile development process is desirable since it enables employee empowerment across the organisation for true business transformation and innovation. Mobile apps which are in line with the expectations of users regarding simplicity and create code automation environments which make it possible to achieve ideas.

Democratisation makes it possible to transform a vision into a running app for iPhone or Android, which can be designed instantly, and although not production-ready, is available on the app store, and can be a magnet for stakeholders and investors.

The Future – Bimodal IT regarding Gartner’s Vision

Gartner proposes a combination of traditional and modern IT practices in the realm of enterprise IT, which it calls Bimodal IT. As per Gartner proposal, future IT organisations will operate through two flavours, one based on the traditional IT approach for efficiency and stability, and the other based on an agile, experimental organisation, for least time-to-market and rapid evolution in a tightly aligned business space.

Bimodal IT can accelerate delivery of business apps. The characteristics of the two modes are designed to support different types of business projects targeted towards different business goals, from disruptive innovation to stability and maintenance. These different modes are available to cater to the differing needs of projects regarding requirements for business involvement, the requirement for frequency of updates, and faster turnaround times.

Two separate delivery methods which are in coherence with each other enable the advantages of predictability on one end of the spectrum, and exploratory approach on the other end. Simply put, there is a plethora of technological expertise available, and the present market is tuned to offer digitisation at its best to the construction sector. Construction businesses following a combination of traditional and modern business models are in the best place to decide the practices in mobile digitisation that will suit them best and take them to the next level.

In Pursuit of knowledge (Content Strategi – SEO)

The pursuit of knowledge is a time-honoured tradition. From times of yore the importance of having the right knowledge and wisdom has been stressed upon us and why not? As the saying from Hitopadesha goes,

Meaning that true knowledge gives humility, and with humility one becomes qualified. With good qualifications one attains wealth, and with wealth, one can do good & noble deeds. That, in turn, leads to happiness.

And that is what we all seek: to be happy. To that end, we pursue valuable knowledge that will give us the wisdom to accomplish our goals

Knowledge: The instrument that determines our actions

In today’s age, there is no dearth of information. We are in fact, bombarded by a constant stream of information from a variety of sources. But, for our actions to contribute meaningfully to society, the knowledge we gain should be credible and worthy.

This premise for sharing good content & thoughts with the world is not new. It dates back to the days of Rig-Veda.

It implies a sense of common welfare and inclusiveness. It tells us that it is our responsibility to share knowledge and spread good ideas.

A laudable idea can take root and expand to transform lives and elevate communities. It all depends on the knowledge we have collected and the wisdom we have acquired.

Thus making appropriate information available for learning is the first step to building a better community.

Organisations like Khan Academy are already delivering free content, educating the youth of our world. As the leaders of tomorrow, enabling their noble pursuits will ensure a brighter future.

Knowledge and Wisdom: The conundrum

Gaining knowledge on a plethora of subjects is quite convenient and easy in this digital age. However, without good insight and the ability to separate the good from the bad, the knowledge serves no useful purpose. For society to develop, knowledge must be tempered with a clarity of perception to be of any good to the common welfare. And that is wisdom acquired through deep learning.

As Sri Aurobindo expounded, it is wisdom that can tear down the veil of false appearances and find the hidden kernel of truth. Knowledge is just the instrument that helps us gain the understanding we need.

This forms the basis for an advanced society. A good system of learning is key to societal development and overall wellbeing. It rouses the people’s ability to think, formulate their ideas and principles, free themselves from propaganda & dogma and contribute positively to society.

Let the light of knowledge shine bright and true

Meaning: A fool is revered at home, a Lord in his village, a king in his country but a learned man and scholar is revered everywhere.

A wise person is celebrated universally, an exemplary honour that no on else can claim.

So the pursuit of knowledge and the resulting wisdom is a noble and commendable goal. Let us do our best to see that those seeking knowledge can always find it and never be stymied, for intellectual curiosity is the first step to transforming lives.

Calendar Spread Strategies For Volatility Challenged Markets(Content Strategi)

When market conditions are making trading a tricky affair, it can be difficult to know where to look for secure trading. A calendar spread can be a strong medium to long term options strategy to reduce the risk of getting burned by a volatile market and to exploit any market conditions for a decent gain.

What it is

In essence, a calendar spread is a group of Options of the same stock, with the same strike price, but, crucially, with different expiration dates. Options, obviously are a time-sensitive asset, and the calendar spread profits from this sensitivity.

In essence, the trader can integrate the advantages of spreads, the difference between the market value and the strike price, with the pros of a more directional option for a trading strategy. With the strengths of these two styles combined, a calendar spread can almost guarantee profits under any trading conditions.

How calendar spreads work

A calendar spread can work in one of two ways: you can take a market neutral position and benefit from the time decay in the value of the stock options or, alternatively a shorter term market neutral position with a longer-term directional strategy.

Time Spread

A long-term calendar spread strategy, known as a Time Spread is the selling and buying of either a call or put option at the same strike price, but, crucially, those which expire at different times. In its most basic sense, you buy the longer-dated option and sell the shorter dated one. Taking this position on the short-dated option has the effect of bringing down the price of the longer dated one. Thus the trade becomes cheaper than the outright buying of the longer term option.

A long calendar spread can be one of two types. A call strategy or a put one. The put strategy has some advantages over the call, but it depends on your opinion of the underlying stock. Those of a bearish tendency will want to buy a calendar put spread; the more bullish will opt for a call.

The overall effect is to create a relatively neutral, low-risk position which will gain from the time decay of the front option sold short.

For example

Say MegaCorp stock has traded for years at between $55 and $65, this sort of “sideways trading” low volatility stock is perfect for a calendar spread. We can reasonably assume that the selling price isn’t going to shift that much regardless of market conditions. So if the stock’s trading at $61.10 our strategy is first to sell the January, $62.50 calls for $0.30 each then buy the March ones at $0.80 apiece. So the calendar spread’s net debit at this juncture is $0.50. That $0.50 represents the total risk of the trade, which is part of the reasons why calendar spreads are a good option for a canny trader.

Now, in an ideal world, the MegaCorp stock will rise a little before falling below $62.50 at the January expiration. This has the effect of removing all value from the short January call. So with two months to go until the March expiration, without too much volatility in the stock price the March calls value will stand at around $1.70. That’s a profit of $1.20 on the $0.50 spent.

The short term option expiring without making its money is, of course, a best case scenario; not all calendar spreads will work this efficiently. The beauty, though, lies in the flexibility, you still have that long position, so if you think that the market’s going to remain relatively neutral, you have the option of selling another option against that position, effectively rolling the spread over into a new one.

If, however, you feel that the stock is starting to move more in the direction you expected, you have the option of treating it as normal. It’s the ability to cover both ends of the market which make the calendar spread a healthy choice.

The secret’s in the planning

The first thing you need to do when laying the plans for a long-term calendar spread is to get a good feel for the market sentiment surrounding the stock and get a good feel for what trading conditions are going to be like over the next few months. If it’s looking bearish overall, then a put calendar spread is a healthy option.

The next step is to identify your stock. As we’ve already seen, we don’t want a stock that’s too volatile; you wouldn’t want a big difference between the bidding and asking prices.

Once you’re in the trade, close monitoring is essential. If your little option doesn’t decline as much as you’d expect, then the parameters of your overall debit (and the profit you can turn on the extended position) start to shorten. Be vigilant.

The downsides

While a properly managed calendar spread is a relatively low-risk investment strategy, it should be remembered that all investments are risks. Too much market volatility and the long position suddenly becomes a more vulnerable one.

With a time-sensitive strategy such as this, it’s important to make sure you’re keeping a close watch on the option expiration dates and time your entry into the market precisely, to ensure that you’re trading in the general direction of the stock. A mistimed entry running against the market could result in a sizeable loss.

Conclusion

The main thing to remember about calendar spreads is that it is at the start a neutral position, and generates profits only as time decays start to factor in play. It can be used in a bull or bear market, but just make sure you’re running the same way the market is. The number one thing to take away is that a calendar spread is most effective when you expect the price to stay stable in the short term, and move with market trends in the longer term. If that’s what you expect to happen, then this could well be a fruitful trading option for you.

The Face of Digital Disruption in the Mortgage Industry – the Roadblocks and the High Points (Content Strategi)

The industry is bursting with digital disruptions across verticals, talk about taxi services, accommodation providers or cinemas. Smart players who have spearheaded the digital revolution have done so by single-mindedly caring for the customer experience, as opposed to resources that feed into their service delivery.

How about the mortgage industry then? How far are we from crossing the chasm of the digital?

Key Roadblocks in Digitally Disrupting the Mortgage Landscape

Caring about your customers profoundly can control the extent and degree of innovation and eventual transformation for revolutionary market domination. But there is more to the mortgage industry, and it seems to lag behind. There are obvious reasons, inhibiting a welcome change:

  • The effect of regulation is more profound on the mortgage industry than any other industry. Regulatory compliance is hard to traverse and mainly creates roadblocks in the way of innovation.
  • Complexities in mortgage products make them more costly and harder to convert into revenue machines.

Customer Experience is Still the Single Most Important Piece of Mortgage Processing

Here’s what’s preventing an excellent customer experience when it comes to mortgage products:

  • Customers find mortgage products complex and getting to core features, and the value they provide is mostly a tough task for the average consumer.
  • When applying for a mortgage loan, they might want to take advantage of professional advice to exercise their best possible choices.

The attitude of innovation in the mortgage mindset itself has to undergo a drastic change, to unleash the right degree of force for a digital disruption.

Traditional processes and underlying complications, the regulatory maze and most importantly, acceptance for the digital drive weighs you down considerably.

If you are into the mortgage space and creating a haven for your customers, then you are at your best by rolling out a plan that will care of the following:

  • The best digital and mobile experience on par with parallel industry verticals
  • An effective no hassle plan to handle financial documents
  • Secure end-to-end processes with best in the industry security standards, audit and encryption mechanisms
  • High priority customer experience and an effectively guided path through your workflow

How Far Can You Get with Mortgage Digitisation

Digital technology can profoundly influence the mortgage process. You might empower the consumer by simplifying the mortgage process considerably, so your consumer feels empowered.

When getting your reliable and scalable product in the market, allowing your consumers to compare available options and getting through with the help of a pre-qualification tool and online application increases your efficiency.

Security is one of the most important aspects of the mortgage transaction and instils customer confidence. Encapsulating your digitisation with the help of enterprise-grade technology helps effectively position your product on a global scale.

Competitive lenders must ensure that their technology solution must be extensible and flexible. Also, you must be easily able to configure technology for changing lending scenarios.

The digital world is pushing lenders to embrace digitisation that matters to their consumers. Therefore, those who deploy meaningful solutions that create unmatched customer experiences are here to stay.

Importance Of Front Desk Executives In Healthcare Establishments (Content Strategi)

Most medical practices and hospitals are understandably very busy places. Patients might have all sorts of problems, but doctors don’t have time to deal with non-medical problems. Hence, it becomes vital that there are efficient front desk executives to help deal with these issues and queries. In general, they greatly aid in the smooth functioning of the establishment.

Some of the specific ways in which they help are as follows:

Scheduling Appointments Accurately

Front desk executives or receptionists are entrusted with the vital responsibility of scheduling all appointments with the doctor. In a way, they are running the healthcare establishment.

This can be done by maintaining a physical diary or a computer record of patients’ requests. After referencing the doctors’ free hours, they need to assign patients certain times and numbers.

They thus need to have unquestionable organisational skills. They also need to be able to comfortably make their way around a computer. Specifically, they may need good word processing and spreadsheet skills.

It’s incredibly important to schedule appointments without irregularities, for obvious reasons. Health is an important issue, and to serve as many people as possible, scheduling needs perfection. Moreover, patients never like to wait unnecessarily for hours.

Building Rapport With The Patients

Before they meet the doctor, the front desk receptionist is the patients’ access point to the medical facility. They go to them for answers to any questions or doubts they might have. Thus receptionists need to project a kind and friendly demeanour at all times.

Occasionally, patients have very serious problems. These can be diseases like vitiligo, albinism, or others which might affect the patients’ self-confidence. Some diseases like STDs might be very embarrassing to admit and talk about, especially to a stranger. Just look at this example.

Thus the executive has to be considerate in dealing with the patients. They need to understand the sensitivity that a situation may demand and act accordingly.

Even in other, less serious situations, patients can be understandably concerned and hurried. It is the receptionist’s job to be patient with the people, no matter what their questions are.

This is important because it affects the general atmosphere of the facility, especially the waiting room. A positive and amiable receptionist can make patients feel instantly at ease, while the opposite can do much damage.

And this atmosphere affects the chances of patients coming back to the establishment. So from the point of view of the doctors or managers, hiring a pleasant and efficient front desk executive is of the essence.

Handling Billing Related Queries

Doubts about the bill can be more common than you expect and sensitive issues in themselves. Medicines and visits to the doctor are admittedly costly, and they aren’t getting any cheaper. Given this context, it isn’t surprising that people want to clarify even the slightest financial query.

Receptionists are in charge of this as well. They need to be able to maintain impeccable records of the bills, how much each patient was charged, and if the patient bought any medicines from there. Again, organisational and computer skills are an asset.

Patients need to be given copies of the bill to ensure there are no communication gaps.

And most importantly, if anyone does have doubt, the receptionist should be understanding and calm in resolving the issue.

This is incredibly vital because if financial queries aren’t adequately addressed or looked into, patients will feel that they are being ripped off. This breaks the trust between the healthcare provider and the patient. And no one will entrust their well-being to someone they don’t trust.

And yet, once again, we see how the receptionist can have a great and lasting impact on the number of patients coming or returning to the healthcare establishment.

Getting The Patients’ Medical Records Ready For The Doctors

The current situation of healthcare in the country is that every medical practitioner and the hospital is swarmed with people with diseases misleadingly ‘benign’ and frustratingly ‘common’. One cannot stress enough how important it is to advise as many patients as possible per day.

To do this, the doctor-patient time needs to be limited to only the necessary stuff. Only the advice and the questions. Other stuff like showing medical records can be dealt with by the front desk staff to increase efficiency.

They need to take the patients’ medical records, decide with the patient what is relevant to their present condition, and make a modified list. And this relevant, efficient medical history is then passed to the doctor when it’s their turn.

This effectively utilises the waiting time. But one also needs to understand the nuances of this task.

A patient’s medical history is among the most private information about themselves. And it’s difficult to share it with someone who’s not your doctor. So receptionists need to be understanding and approachable.

Keeping The Reception Organised And Presentable

As the old cliché goes, the first impression is the last impression. While the veracity of this statement is questionable, one must indeed admit that first impressions tend to last.

Patients need to feel comfortable at the healthcare establishment. This includes the reception, waiting room, doctor’s office, test room, and others. The whole idea behind a hospital or medical practice is to help people and solve their problems, and discomfort can hamper the process.

Since the doctors are concerned with the medical aspect of the process, this job too falls into the already full hands of the receptionist. They have to make sure that the reception area is organised, clean, presentable and aesthetically calming.

If you’ve noticed any paediatrician’s office, there are often pictures of cartoons and other fun stuff kids like. That’s all under the receptionist’s management – they need to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Summarising

So, in a nutshell, while the doctor’s job is to treat the patients, it is the receptionist’s job to make them feel at home. And since the multiplicity of doctors has often meant the patients have options, it can be easily argued that a responsible receptionist could make all the difference.

Medicine and health is a serious issue. And their job requires front desk executives to be caring, kind, polite, calm, patient, well-organised, and more. It is, to make an understatement, no mean task.

Was 2016 the year to make or break Indian startups? (Content Strategi – SEO)

India has experienced a boom in new emerging startups in the past few years. This year, 2016 has been different, though. So is India’s startup bubble about to burst?

First the bad news

Despite being the worlds 3rd largest ecosystem for the startup industry, India has seen a massive fall in investment in new startups. Compared to the same period in 2015, investment decreased a staggering 40{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} in the first half of 2016, to the tune of $2.1 billion. This fall in investment has impacted startups and new businesses in one of two ways:job losses and sadly the closing of some.

In July this year, Flipkart showed 700 of its employees the door, following in the footsteps of Snapdeal, Zomato, Grofers, Housing, TinyOwl and others who have also been forced to lose staff due to financial difficulties or failure to meet forecast goals.

Unfortunately, for some companies and startups, job cuts were not enough, and 2016 has been witness to the folding of some big players in the startup industry; including Peppertap, Amber Wellness, and Tooler, with many others set to follow suit.

Now here’s some good news for entrepreneurs

It’s not all bad news, though. This year saw the second year of the annual Startup India Rocks Competition –  A competition run by Scaales global group. The competition provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to win prizes which range from mentorship, funding and corporate connections.

Last year’s event in Goa was so successful that the idea was expanded into the global market, now known as Startup Global Rocks.

Startup Global Rocks features:

  • Over 100 companies from more than 15 countries
  • More than 60 global investors
  • The involvement of at least 50 global media outlets
  • More than $2 million invested so far

Scaale global group are a company growth consultancy group with connections in over eight countries worldwide. The group has more than ten years of experience, connecting startups and small businesses with funding, corporate contacts and investors they require to grow their business.

So what’s the Government planning for startup companies?

In January of 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the Startup India action plan, to a collection of startup founders.  The Startup India action plan is a 19-step plan that aims to put entrepreneurship and innovation at the forefront of the Indian economy, by relaxing policies and providing funding and training opportunities for the country’s entrepreneurs. Key players in the startup industry such as Girish Mathrubootham, founder of Indian startup Freshdesk, applauded the governments recognition of startups as legitimate businesses.

The Startup India action plan proposes many things from funding to tax breaks, training centres and easier company registration to name a few.

And with over 80k jobs being created by the startup industry alone in 2015, it’s hardly surprising that the Indian government wishes to bolster and aid the industry. However, many feel that the action plan doesn’t go far enough.

The Startup India action plan does lack a few things

As with most new government programs, there have been a few voices of discontent since the announcement made at Red Fort, Delhi in January. While many agree that the Startup India action plan will make life easier for new startups and investors, others feel the terms of the plan fall well short of what India’s startup industry needs.

Forbes India, highlighted some of the good, and not so good aspects of the Startup India action plan. The graphic depicted here enumerates the pros and cons of this plan.

Some blame the atrocious gender gap in India for India’s struggling startup industry, with only 10{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} of startup founders being female, compared to 37{ed162fdde9fdc472551df9f31f04601345edf7e4eff6ea93114402690d8fa616} in the US. While others, including Alok Goel, managing director at SAIF Partners, suggested that India’s old-fashioned laws and policies are to blame.

Nobody can deny, though, that this is a very exciting time in India to be launching a startup. It remains to be seen how far the newly launched plan is going to survive, though.

How are the startups shaping up in India?

In a new economic climate where innovation and entrepreneurship have been pushed to the forefront, India could see a real upsurge in the number of startups around, and this is of vital importance for a country like India.

The problem-solving minds of entrepreneurs are important in tackling some of Indias biggest problems such as health care and education. This is where Indian startups differ from those in the rest of the world. India is not exporting cheap labour like in bygone years; they are developing solutions for Indian people in India.

The government’s development of the Startup India action plan demonstrates that they are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of startups in India.  So, while the new policies may come too late for existing fledgeling startups, there may still be a few creases that need ironing out. Hopefully, we will see an increase in new ideas and innovations as a result.

What are the proposed Startup incubators

One of the biggest aspects of the government’s plan is the formation of Startup incubators, centres of excellence around the country where entrepreneurs and innovators can come together to share ideas.

With the sole purpose of helping new businesses grow, incubators are developing to be more industry specific in India so that startups can focus on the right areas. Assistance ranges from basic business etiquette and connecting startups with industry partners, to simply providing office space.

The future for Indian startups

With the Startup India action plan now in full swing, the government has proposed many options which should make setting up a startup easier. But it is important to remember that despite this investment, many of Indias top 200 startups choose to base their headquarters in countries such as Singapore and the US, in order to experience more business freedoms. So the next big question is, once we encourage all these new startups in India,  how do we get them to stay?
